Bacon & Egg Spinach Salad: spinach, lettuce, 1-2 hard boiled eggs (sliced with salt & pepper for flavor), 2 slices bacon (cooked & crispy! or bacon bits if you prefer those and want less work), 1/2 cup apple slices/chunks, 1/4 cup wontons, 1/4 cup sliced green pepper, 1 tsp pepper for taste, 3 tbs Spinach Salad Dressing (Marzetti is a great brand!)

Had to take a moment to shout out the "Stanley-Not Had to take a moment to shout out the "Stanley-Not-Stanley!" Anyone who knows me knows I'm not big on following the trends. . . but when this knockoff 'Stanley' was given to me as a gift, I realized what all the hype was about! Having a cup for water that actually. . . → fits the amount of water I should be drinking (40oz!) → comes with a straw → AND fits in my cupholder is a no-brainer! I also like how it's completely dishwasher-safe, lead-free (because having a layer of lead is apparently a thing with some cups!?), and I actually like the simple white color. I used to spend $9-10 on an #acaibowl when I first I used to spend $9-10 on an #acaibowl when I first moved to California. They are just SO GOOD and I couldn't resist. But now I know better. Here's the trick: ⠀ ⠀ ❤️ Find acai pouches at your local grocery store (I recommend a wholesale store because they'll be bigger amounts but cheaper).⠀ ⠀ ❤️ Warm the packet up (you can leave it in the sun for about 15-20 seconds or put it in hot water until it partly thaws).⠀ ⠀ ❤️ Add frozen berries (blueberries, strawberries, and black/raspberries are the best, in my opinion).⠀ ⠀ ❤️ Drizzle with honey and granola. (Optional: Add banana slices, cocoa powder, protein powder, or stir in a little apple juice or oat milk for a more creamy flavor!)⠀ ⠀ Enjoy cold. ❄️⠀ You're welcome.⠀

As the "house chef" as I like to call myself (with pride 😜), I have the responsibility of making sure my humans get the right nutrients, vitamins, fruits, veggies, etc. ⠀ ⠀ Sometimes it's hard to sneak those veggies in, but salads do the trick. Sometimes his son comes, too. ⠀ ⠀ It's our little routine, a little way to jolt myself from the early morning work and into the start of the "real" day. It's a little bit of exercise. It's fresh air. It's a reminder that even if the world feels weird right now, my dog has no damn idea. He's just happy to smell nature. And maybe I could learn a little from him. 🐾⠀
