1. The Throw-It-Together-Salad.

Do you have one or more of these ingredients: lettuce, kale, spinach, green beans, corn, carrots, tomatoes, celery, broccoli, peas, or fresh fruit?

If the answer’s yes, then you’re well on your way. Think outside the box. Instead of having a traditional salad, can you make…

a. A bean salad: with red, black, green beans and Italian dressing.
b. A fruit salad: with whatever fruit you have, chopped and paired with poppy-seed dressing or ranch?
c. A salsa mix: like broccoli, peas, carrots, and corn mixed with a little salsa and chips?

Here’s a few ideas to get you started! This isn’t going to be a gourmet salad, but it will have veggies and protein, and will fill you up. Sometimes throwing together what you have can lead to some interesting, and tasty combos!

2. The Grilled Cheesy.

Throwback to childhood here! This is probably the easiest thing to make when you’re in a pinch. All you need is some type of cheese, some type of carb to put the cheese on, and a little butter. Even better–try a new sauce or dressing, add veggies, or enjoy with a side of soup. Anything goes when you’re trying to use up what’s in the kitchen!

3. The Painless Pasta.

Noodles, cheese, and butter. Can it get any easier than that? Okay, so this might not be the best or healthiest meal, but it’s super easy, and if you’re in a pinch, it can be ready super quick.

4. Potato, Potata.

Have any potatoes in the house? Then get excited for the ways you can use them to make a real-life meal! For example, a chicken-stuffed potato, like in this five ingredient recipe.

5. Fool-Proof Soup.

Do you have these ingredients: broth (beef or chicken), beans, chili powder/ranch packet/some type of seasoning, tomato sauce, and meat?
Then you could easily whip up a soup to chow down on, and save for later!
