Your back is an integral part of your life, body, and movement, and back pain isn’t something to be ignored. Whether you’ve been facing back pain already or are just trying to take a proactive approach to your physical health, paying attention to warning signs (and acting on them immediately!) is so important.
Here are a few things to note when it comes to your back:

Pay Attention To Dull Aches
Regardless of your age, you shouldn’t be facing chronic pain and/or dull aching pain. If you are, this could be anything from a vertebrae being shifted to muscle tension from being over stretched. If this is something you’re facing, it’s a good idea to pursue chiropractic care as soon as possible. While this isn’t necessarily a ‘quick fix,’ getting adjusted can help to put your spine back into alignment and relieve some of the tension you’re facing. After the dull ache subsides, you can continue regular adjustments to continue feeling regulated, aligned, and strong.
Act Immediately If Your Back Has Seized Up
Something else that can happen is that your back can seize up, so that you are unable to move it. It might be that you can’t even move it an inch, or it could be that you can move it but only a little. In either case, that’s usually a result of a pulled muscle, pinched nerve, or something similar, and this type of back pain you’re going to want to act fast on. Depending on the severity of your injury, it could be relatively easy to fix/heal. . . as long as you don’t ignore the symptoms!
Take Note Of When/How You Feel Pain
If you find yourself struggling to walk or perform other basic tasks that are normally not problematic for you, then that is a sure sign that something is off with your back. Sometimes our backs hurt the most when we’re moving, but sometimes the opposite is true, and you’re in more pain when you’re sitting down. Both are warning signs of bigger issues (misalignment, issues with muscles or ligaments, problems with discs, etc.). While every diagnosis tends to be personal, your first best step is to see a doctor or chiropractor to figure out the root cause of the issue and what to do about it.
TLDR; if you’re experiencing back pain (no matter how severe!) don’t ignore it. Take active steps to figure out the problem and start on a healing path.
