Stress is inevitable, and unfortunately, it’s one of those things in life that you have to accept (to some extent) and work through. No matter how you try to avoid or circumvent it, you are going to experience stress throughout your life. But if you want to make sure that you are dealing with it appropriately, it’s generally a good idea to not only understand what stresses you out, but how your body tends to hold stress and where it impacts you the most.

The Back
A very common place to hold stress is in the back, and when this happens you can definitely feel it. Back pain can make it difficult to perform many basic tasks, such as walking and sitting and so on, and it’s something that you are probably going to want to be aware of if you are keen on trying to care for your body in general. If you think you need some chiropractic care, that could help a lot – as could generally reducing your stress levels, of course. Holding stress in the back is ultimately not very good for your health.
The Stomach
A lot of people find that stress appears to build up in the stomach. This may manifest in cramps, gut issues, constant stomach aches, or you may generally feel tender there. However it feels to you, stomach pain due to stress is definitely something that want to be aware of. Try to pay attention to when you feel stressed and if you’re stress eating. You may also want to see if certain foods/drinks trigger symptoms and make you feel worse, too. Try to de-stress as soon as possible, and focus on nutritious foods to combat any stomach upset as much as you can.
The Head
For many of us, stress very quickly turns into a headache. If you know that you tend to get headaches when you are stressed, or you get them a lot and you are not sure why, you’re not alone. This is one of the most common expressions of stress in the body. The solution, apart from just generally trying to avoid stress, is to make sure that you are hydrating well, so that you give your brain a chance to avoid being dehydrated. Hydration is keep for headaches, stress, and a lot of health problems in general!
Stress In The Body Can Occur Anywhere
In truth, you can hold stress pretty much anywhere in the body, so the main thing is to make sure that you are aware of stress, where it is, and how it is happening. If you can have more mindfulness of your physical self, then managing stress will feel all little more possible. Being more aware of your symptoms and feelings will help you to recognize, address, and manage stress more effectively.
Bottom line – you’ve got this! One day at a time.
