Spice Up the Simple Sandwich

Sometimes I feel like people get all crazy with their meals. I’d just like to say that sometimes there’s nothing wrong with a plain old sandwich! But if you’re looking for ways to take the plain and making it exciting, you’ve come to the right place.

Whether you’re a sandwich-lover or just looking for an easy, cheap way to make your lunch taste better, here are some ideas:

  1. Have you ever tried hummus?! Before you wrinkle your nose, give it a shot. It comes in so many flavors: roasted pine nut, traditional, roasted red pepper, garlic, just to name a few. It’s a protein-packed spread that gives your sandwich an extra kick!
  2. Okay, this might be something I’m weirdly passionate about, but pesto, I think is awesome on sandwiches! It’s garlicy, basily, and gives a great spice and flavor to your sandwich. Give it a try!
  3. Have you ever tried salad dressing on a sandwich?! I bet not! Try a little sprinkle. It adds a ton of flavor and can make a sandwich have a salad-taste, which is great if you’re planning on adding a ton of greens! (Which, by the way, is way healthy!)
  4. The George. I always forget about this guy. The George Foreman, you know, that awesome little gadget that takes your sandwich from boring to panini-style? Yeah, it rocks! What a simple way to make your meal more exciting. Now you can have a toasted, panini-style sandwich that tastes way warmer, crispier, and better.
