Want Something Sweet? Try Fruit!

Okay, okay. So I know I’ve been posting a lot of salad recipes lately…but in my defense, it’s summer and no one really wants a hot, heavy dish. Right?

The other night I was looking for something sweet. I had that nagging craving for ice cream, chocolate, peanut butter, puppy chow…you know, all things good for your body. Well, I knew I had to eat an actual dinner first, so I switched up my salad to cater to my sweet craving.

Summer Sweet Fruit Salad:

What you need:

  1.  2-3 cups lettuce, spinach, coleslaw/cabbage mix (whatever you like!)
  2.  1 cup assorted fruit (I love using mandarin oranges, blueberries, sliced strawberries)
  3.  1/4 cup crumbled Feta cheese
  4. 2-3 tbs. Poppyseed dressing
Summer Sweet Fruit Salad: 2-3 cups greens (lettuce, spinach, cabbage, etc.), 1 cup chopped fruit (ex: mandarin oranges, blueberries, strawberries), 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese, 2-3 tbs. poppyseed dressing.

Chop your fruit first, set aside. Mix your greens then add the fruit on top and dressing is last! Tastes best cold! A refreshing way to eat a lot of fruits and veggies– plus it satisfies any sugar craving!
